Celebration of Larry’s Life will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday December 12, 2019 at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL with Rev. George Sells officiating. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Larry Baker, 84, Robinson, IL formerly of Oblong, IL passed away surrounded by loved ones Sunday December 8, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.
He was born in Kibbie, IL located in Crawford County, IL on October 24, 1935 and was the son of Lorenus Henry “L.H.” Baker and Geneva (Vance) Baker. On May 12, 1955 he married Betty Miller and they later divorced.
Larry was a lifelong farmer and over the road truck driver. From 1955 – 1976 he drove milk trucks and from 1976 – 2013 he was an over the road flatbed driver. He graduated from Oblong High School in 1953 and was a member of the South Side Christian Church in Robinson for many years. Larry enjoyed all things related to being with family and friends such as cookouts, outdoor activities on the farm, going to McDonalds three times a day, and driving his daily 3-mile circuit to visit with everyone he seen. Larry loved watching the children of his family in sporting events, school musicals, school plays or any other activity he could be involved in. Larry never met a stranger and was always entertaining to everyone around him.
He is survived by his children- Richard and his wife Deborah Baker, Robinson, IL, Bryan Baker, Robinson, IL, and Teresa Teter and her fiancé John Schalasky, Robinson, IL; His grandchildren- Debbie and her husband Zac Mcnair, Robinson, Cassandra Baker, Robinson, Vance Teter, Robinson, Kelley and her husband Jeff Munson, Oblong IL., Seth and his wife Kathy Teter, Robinson, IL., Matthew Baker, Robinson, IL., Jamie and her husband Joe Martin, Langley, OK., Dellin and her husband AB Jimenez, Robinson, IL.; His great grandchildren- Miranda Stuart, Kryton Mcnair, Aurora Teter, Addison Mcnair, Audrie Baker, Arrin Baker, Hudson Mcnair, Elizabeth Hill, Miah Baker, Carson Mcnair, Pixie Martin, and Malcom Martin; His siblings Chuck and his wife Donna Baker, Oblong, IL, Martha and her husband Don Lewis, Oblong, IL and Jo Flairty, Omaha, NE; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Larry in death are his parents, step mother Ruth Baker, and second cousin Burl Ives.
